Teaching kids to code from zero

The Little Coding Workshop teaches computational thinking before syntax. Stages begin with commands and sequencing, then loops, then if/else conditions, and finally problem solving and debugging. Children don't type complex code at the start — they order steps, drag cards and work out which step broke the result, which is exactly what professional developers do every day.

Each level includes a short narrated explainer, a drag-and-drop or pick-the-right-step activity, and smart hints that appear when a child gets stuck instead of handing over the answer. The goal is for children to treat mistakes as a normal part of coding: try, observe, change one step, try again.

The track suits ages 6–12 and needs no prior experience from parents. A printable worksheet at the end of each level lets kids practise the idea away from the screen, and the short stage exam awards a motivating certificate. For teachers: the activities run on a single device with a projector, so they work as a whole-class activity without a computer lab.
